If you’re looking for a modern, adorable, and easy cross stitch pattern, this one’s a great option. I was looking for something that didn’t involve farm animals or other country themes, and I also love Japanese motifs. Here’s links to the pattern and a helpful video that helped me re-start my cross stitch journey that had been put on hold since a little sheep in elementary school.

(The doll is just a few inches tall, and I’m not sure what size Aida I used. It was a secondhand piece. That’s also why it’s a little bit dingy. I did a zig-zag stitch around the edge after it was complete because I either didn’t feel like it or didn’t know I was supposed to before. It is not in the photo. I have done the zig-zag stitch on my next project to help with fraying edges. Another blog also mentioned using a fray stopping glue, but it’s really up to you. I also changed the colors from the original. In retrospect, I wish I had used a teal rather than the green on her obi (sash).)
